Community Preferences
In October of 2020, virtual participants contributed their thoughts and opinions on Draper Street. Participants loved many aspects of the current corridor and the comments reflect the community’s desire to add and enhance elements of the street, rather than remove. Overall, responses show a desire to limit automotive traffic, in favor of a more pedestrian and bicycle friendly environment.

Community Mapping Exercise
Public engagement participants were asked to identify specific areas of opportunity and challenge throughout the existing Draper St. corridor. This activity provided local insight and institutional knowledge to the planning team.



Overarching opportunities identified along the corridor:
- Additional bike parking
- More outdoor dining
- Reduced (one-way) or no car traffic
- Additional seating
- Wider sidewalks
- Expanded farmers market
- Add a bicycle lane
- Additional trees and landscaping
- Examples of challenges were more specific and included:
- Street safety concerns due to reduced visibility for street crossing and cyclists
- Lack of storefronts on Draper Road
- Grease traps at the local restaurant
